Our committee meets as needed to to make decisions concerning the backpack program. 

 

We developed weekend packs to be filled with health and nutrition in mind. Each pack includes nutritious and easy-to-prepare foods for children in need. The children receiving these meals must be eligible for free and reduced meals of the federal government’s National School Lunch and Breakfast programs. Almost seventy percent of Stevenson’s school children meet this requirement.

 

Applications are sent home with students who are identified and meet the above requirement. Parents must return the application to accept the offer of the Pacer Packs.

 

Pack distributions occur on Fridays every other week. With additional funding, weekly distributions could occur.
