We are a group of Stevenson, AL citizens and teachers concerned about food insecure children. Food insecurity means that you don't have enough food to eat, and are unsure where or when your next meal might come. We, the PACERS committee, mounted a plan to help these kids get nutritious and easy-to-prepare foods for the weekend, to tide them over until returning to school on Mondays.

Our journey began in January 2015 by sending some of the most needy children home on Fridays with a “Pacer Pack” of sustaining foods. This effort started at Stevenson Elementary School, and in 2016 the program expanded to Stevenson Middle School.

Membership is open to the public. Pacers, a community organization with 501(c)(3) status, serves as our umbrella group affording tax exemption for donations.
